Experimenting with light

A nerdy photography post here about a photo shoot I did where I experimented with light. This was actually for part of my exam coursework and I loved doing it so much!

As always my teacher told me to start off by doing some artist research which helped me come up with some ideas and then I got creative.

To take these photos I used my Nikon DSLR camera and tri pod and some mini coloured lights. I then set my camera to a slow shutter speed and ran in front of the camera waving lights – very fun and I’m sure entertaining to anyone watching.

I didn’t have specific shutter speed that I used, I kept changing it to see the different effects I could get. I found the longer you set it the more time you had to try and draw different patterns.

It was really easy and fun to do, so I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to experiment with photography to try it!
