World Book Day!

Today is world book day! This was one of my favourite days when I was in primary school as you got to dress up as characters and read, two of my most favourite things! I remember one year my mum made me a Robin Hood costume. I was cool back then.

Anyway in honour of world book day here is a bookish post about the current books I’m reading, my favourite all time books and my guilty pleasure books.

Current book i’m reading

I am currently on book three of the Vampire Academy books which I started reading last month. I’d seen the film at the beginning of the year and had no intention of reading them but then my mums friend gave me them as she thought I like them and they actually are pretty good. The film does it no justice!

The Vampire Academy books are about a girl called Rose who want’s to become a guardian and protect her vampire Lissa. There is a lot of drama and twists you wouldn’t expect, they are definitely worth reading!

Top 5 favourite books

Hush Hush by Rebecca Fitzpatrick http://www.beccafitzpatrick.com/

There are four books all together but I loved the first one most. They are just so amazing and stray away from typical teenage book genres. Just go a and have a read, you will not regret it!

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

This book was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t put it down. Instantly fell in love with Helen and Lucas and the whole greek mythology theme throughout the book. It is part of a trilogy but this one stood out to me the most.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

These are such good and different books to read, I was hooked the minute I started reading them. The first one is my favourite though as I just remember feeling the shock and amazement when Petah was talking on tv and told everyone that the girl he loved came here with him. The films are amazing to.

Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella

My mum gave this book to me to read and I just fell in love with it. It’s about a girl who’s being haunted by her great aunts ghost and she must help her while trying to deal work, heartbreak and her rich uncle. It’s just so good and different to the type of books I go for.

The Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling

I just love every single one of these books so much! I read them all at least twice a year and I never get bored and I don’t think they ever will. They are just full of so many different things and I get lost away with them in the halls of Hogwarts whenever I read them.

Guilty Pleasure Books

I have a lot of guilty pleasure books but these are some I just to read when I was younger and I still love reading now.

Jaqueline Wilson books.

I was obsessed with her when I was younger and I still read her books now. I haven’t really read any of the new ones, just the one’s I’d bought when I was younger, My favourites are: Cookie, Candyfloss, Little Darlings and then her biographies books Jacky daydream and My secret diary. I also like my sister Jodie to but I just find it so sad and hard to read.

The Sleepover Club books

I used to love the original tv show of this with the original characters and i just love reading the books so much. I just find them so funny and they bring out my inner child. I used to read one before bed or in the bath sometimes as I can finish one in about 20 minutes.

Cathy Cassidy books

I discovered her when I was in year 7 I think when I just randomly picked up her book Dizzy when I was in the library. I loved it and then started reading her other books and I still read them occasionally now.

– The walking dead comics (I know they’re not really books but I am a HUGE fan)

-Black Ice (Rebecca Fitzpatricks new book)

-The Uglies series

-The mortal instruments (I liked the first one and would like to read the others)
