Life Update – Driving Sucks

I’ve been struggling little bit lately, hence the lack posts 😁 But the thing that has stressed me out the most is my driving lessons.

I was suppose to have my test at the beginning of February but unfortunately there was a problem with the car so I couldn’t do it. I managed to re schedule it for tomorrow but then on Saturday I got a message from my driving instructor informing that she was ill and wouldn’t be doing lessons all week and therefore couldn’t take me to my test. Nor could I use her car that I’ve been practicing in since last summer.

I was definitely very stressed out this point on Saturday, it was to late to get a refund for my test and I had work so couldn’t really do much about it.

But then I found out that you can take the test in your own car as long as it meets certain guidelines. Now I don’t have one, but my boyfriend does. He said I could use it but I had to pinky promise I’d pay for any damages if I crashed (I love how much faith he has in me).

So we went spent this morning ringing round different insurances to find out how much it would cost to insure me and if the car was insured for a test. His insurance wouldn’t cover me as I’m a learner so we had to look elsewhere.

Unforunately we couldn’t find anything reasonably priced so I had to do the only thing I could. Cancel my test and wave goodbye to the £62 that I had to pay for it ☹️ I’m a student so I’m not exactly rolling in money.

So now I’m looking for a new instructor. I know it’s not my current instructors fault that she was ill but she hasn’t been to reliable in the past (cancelling lessons last minute, waiting days to get back in touch with me to organise new ones) but if she’d of given me just a few more days notice, I might have been able to get some of my money back.

She has been my third instructor in the past four years (had to keep stopping and starting lessons due to uni and money) but this is my final year and I am determined to pass before I graduate!!

My advice to anyone wanting to start driving lessons is talk to friends and family and get some recommendations! See who they passed with and if there are reliable! It sucks to end up like me.

My first instructor was great, my aunty passed with him and my cousin was having lessons with him. (He was also going out with a girl I worked with who was about 15 years younger than him and he’d also got pregnant but I try not to judge)

Just remember that lessons are expensive and so you’ll want someone who your confident will get to that test and pass!

Anyway this is my kind of blog rant over, I need to sleep and try not to think about how I should of been taking my test tomorrow and passing and being able to drive myself places and not get that two hour bus ride home….

Feel free to ask me any question about driving lessons, I’ve had plenty so I’ll do my best to answer them.

Bye for now and I hope you have better luck than me x
