Visiting Oliver’s for the Derby Bloggers

On Saturday I spent my morning, slightly hungover, and with a few other bloggers for the Derby bloggers brunch.

Last year Monet organised a Derby Bloggers Brunch at The Cosy Club, and this year she kindly organised another, with the help of Oliver’s.

Situated on Friargate, Oliver’s is this adorable cafe just a short walk out of the city centre.

I used to go in occasionally to grab a sandwich for work, I am obsessed with their food!

Oliver’s put so much effort into hosting us and even created an itinerary of the afternoon.

First up was a cocktail talk by The rested cocktail co. They are a locally based company that make pre bottled cocktails.

They even bought some for us to try which I sadly had to decline, I don’t think my stomach could of handled it.

To prepare us for all the food, we were brought out a little sample of a PBJ smoothie they are considering adding to their the menu, and honestly it was amazing!

I don’t like peanut butter that much on its own, I prefer it when it in cakes and I really hope they add this to their menu because it was incredible.

After that we were bought out an array of different dishes to try.

They are currently working on a new menu so we got to be their ‘guinea pigs’ and sample some.

The dishes included:

Smoked salmon with a fried egg, sour cream and chive dip and roast potatoes

Coconut pancake with rum-roasted pineapple

Black pudding and roasted potatoes with apple sauce

Brioche french toast with maple roasted apples and mascarpone

I have to say my favourite was the brioche french toast although all the dishes tasted so good (maybe not the black pudding because I’m not a fan)

I really need to go back to Oliver’s soon, it is such a pretty and quirky place.

They have great food and such unique decor.

If you look around the room you can see references to Derby, its great!

If you’ve never been to Oliver’s then I highly recommend you do! It’s the perfect place to catch up with friends, have quiet lunch or grab a snack if your in a hurry. I love it sooo much!
