Things don’t always go to plan

Tonight I was hoping to sit down and write a nice post all about the fun day out I’d had but my plans just fell completely apart.

I woke up early, put on my new favourite play-suit and set off to Stratford-upon-Avon. I haven’t been there since I was in year 7 and me and Jamie had the day off work, so I thought it was the perfect chance to go.

Lets not forget the weather was sunny and warm, the perfect combination…. until the car decided to stop working.

Luckily we managed to get it started again long enough to pull into a nearby service station and gave the AA a call.

We had a little wait ahead of us and unlucky for us the service station we had pulled into was not one of those nice big ones full of places to eat. It was a tiny petrol station with a toilet and a subway, great.

I noticed where we’d parked a little path leading off into some woods so I did what I do best and had a little explore.

It was such a beautiful wood and I followed a path round until I found the back of an old run down building.

I find abandoned stuff so interesting and of course I had to have a nosey round.

I peeked inside but it had been completely stripped, I’m assuming its been like that for a few years.

I still had a look around the outside and tried to get some nice pictures.

The AA finally arrived and were very helpful. I don’t really speak car but there was either a fault with the clutch or the gasket, I think.

Anyway we were okay to drive back home which is what I was panicking about.

We were so close to Stratford-upon -Avon but we thought it best to just try and get home, we had over an hours drive ahead of us.

We just about made it back to my house, the car did stop once when we were close but it luckily started again.

The weather was still so nice so we took a now bald Ted (He had his fur cut today 😦 ) off for a walk.

Once we’d got back I then decided to make the mexican chilli bowl recipe from Niomi Smarts’ cook book. I’ve been aching to try this!

Despite it not containing any meat, it was so delicious. It wasn’t hard to make either and didn’t take too long.

I’ve had her book for a while but haven’t really tried any recipes yet, but I plan on doing so in the next few weeks.

So, today didn’t exactly go to plan but I did enjoy it.

Hopefully I can visit Stratford-upon-Avon another day.

Bye for now
