Celebrating National Burger Day At Byron Burgers Derby

In preparation of National Burger Day and to celebrate their 10th birthday, Byron Burgers at Intu Derby kindly invited me along to sample some of their food.

Despite living in Derby for a while, I’d never quite got round to visiting here so I was super happy when I received an invite!

Byron Burger was first founded in 2007 by Tom Byng and since then have opened places all over the country.

They even have their own cookbook so you can make your own Byron Burger at home.

I arrived there slightly late on a Wednesday evening (Derby traffic is the worst) and joined some friends who had kindly waited for me before they ordered.

The restaurant had an open and spacious feel to it, I hate places where you feel cramped and boxed in!

I ordered a glass of homemade lemonade upon arrival which was very sweet and refreshing.

Deciding what to eat was a big challenge, they have a lot of burgers to choose from!

I opted for a starter of nachos and nuggets to share, and a veggie mushroom burger for my main.

The nuggets were not quite to my taste but the nachos made up for that. Accompanied by guacamole and salsa, they received top marks!

To follow this I had my mushroom burger which was topped with goats cheese, red pepper, spinach and aioli, and a wedge salad on the side.

The burger was delightful! Lots of flavour and very filling, I would 100% recommend.

I’d never tried a wedge salad before so was really intrigued to see what this would look like, it’s not your average side salad. It came smothered in a blue cheese dressing and topped with croutons, bacon and chives. It was not the healthy salad I was imagining but it tasted so good I did not care!

I was feeling pretty full after all of this but I saw they had an Oreo cheesecake on their desert menu and I could not resist.

The only thing tastier than Oreo’s is when they’re made into a cheesecake. It was deliciously rich topped with a chocolate sauce, I could eat this all day.

My friends shared a freak shake which looked incredible. I think I may have to get one next time I go.

Thank you so much to Byron Burgers for inviting me along, I had such a fun and very filling night.

If you’ve never visited Byron Burgers before, I recommend you do! It’s the perfect place to re energise after a full day of shopping or to have a nice catch up with family and friends.

It’s located just next to the food court, you can’t miss it!

If you have ever visited Byron Burgers, let me know what you think!

UPDATE: I believe Byron Burgers in Derby has now closed down but they do have other locations in the UK.
