A Chilly Sunday In York

It’s been so long since I visited York so last  Sunday I decided to visit the beautiful city.

I was working late the night before so I unfortunately didn’t get there until lunch time but I still had the most amazing day.

We parked in the Designer Outlet park and ride and took the bus into the city. Parking is free, you just have to pay for the bus which costs £3.10 for a return which I thought was pretty reasonable.

The first place we hit was The Shambles. It’s been years since I last walked along these and I was ecstatic to see they are now home to not one but three Harry Potter shops.

I spent a lot of time here.

It was quite chilly outside so we skipped walking along the wall and the castle gardens and instead wandered around all the little gift and vintage shops.

One of the many things I love about York is all the old English pubs they have (most of which are dog friendly) so we had a quick lunch in one of these.

To round off the day we did York’s Chocolate Story. We had a guided tour about the history of chocolate in York, got to try some samples and even made chocolate lollies.

Definitely worth a visit if your ever in York and the weathers not great!

Sadly it was getting on for six and we had to leave as the park and ride doesn’t run that late on Sundays.

I had such a fun day and will definitely be returning when the weathers a but warmer!

Hope you liked this post

Bye for now
