Becoming A Student For The Night At Intu Derby Lockdown

When I was a student in Derby, Intu’s lockdown night was always my favourite freshers event. A whole night full of discounts, freebies and so much shopping, it was a dream come true.

Sadly I’m no longer a student so I had to bid farewell to this beloved event,  but on Tuesday I was kindly invited along by Intu to join in the fun once more.

For those of you that don’t know what the Intu Student Lockdown is, it takes place once a year in the evening and Intu is locked down exclusively for students.

A big selection of shops stay open with lots of discounts, some even give away goodie bags (one year I got a free pair of Superdry flipflops), and there’s usually various activities and games going on for students to take part in.

I was so happy to be a student for the night once more.

It was a little strange at first walking round and seeing all the freshers and clubs promoting their student nights as I finished uni over a year ago, but I was soon distracted by all the lovely offers.

The first shop I went into was a slightly crowded New Look and I picked up a new bobble hat, a prossecco and elderflower candle (smells amazing) and this gorgeous green bag which looks perfect for Autumn.

Beauty wise, I bought a new face wash, body spray and face mask from The Bodyshop who had 30%off! I’ve already tried the face mask and I am loving it!

I also picked up a mascara from Kiko Milano which was on offer.

My biggest purchase of the night were these Old Skool Vans which I’ve had my eye on for a while.

It took me two attempts to try and get these from Schuh as it was so busy inside but I spun on a wheel that they had and got 25% off so it was definitely worth it!

I picked up this necklace from Topshop as I seem to have broken all my other long necklaces. Fingers crossed this one lasts.

Finally I stopped by Zara and got this stripy top. I always forget that there’s a Zara in Derby and I do really like that shop. They didn’t have any offers on for lockdown but the top was still reasonably priced at £9.99.

Thank you so much to Intu Derby for inviting me along, I had such a fun night and even got some free candyfloss!

I think I might try and take a little break from shopping for a while though….
